Vedanta Academy Residential Sr. Sec.School, Coimbatore. Celebrated two significant events – Teachers' Day and Onam on 5.9.24 bringing together the essence of gratitude, culture, and festivity.
Teachers' Day Celebration:
On Teachers' Day, the students of Vedanta Academy expressed their heartfelt gratitude towards their teachers. The day commenced with a special assembly, where students performed various cultural programs, including songs, and dances, to honour their mentors. A tribute to Dr.Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, whose birth anniversary marks the celebration of Teachers' Day in India, was a highlight, reminding everyone of his contributions to education and his vision of the teacher-student relationship. Speaking on the occasion Mr.A.Sivakumar, Industrialist and Chairman of Vedanta Academy reminded students about the role of a teacher and recalled his association with his teachers.
Delivering a special address, Mr.D.T.Sudharsan Rao, Director of Vedanta Academy quoted references from ancient Tamil scripts and said Guru Parampara is very old to the Indian system and we need to preserve it.
Onam Celebration:
The Onam celebration at Vedanta Academy was a vibrant affair, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of Kerala. The school was adorned with traditional decorations, including flower rangolis (Pookalam), symbolizing prosperity and unity. Students and teachers were dressed in Kerala's traditional attire, followed by a series of cultural performances showcasing the spirit of Onam.
A highlight of the celebration was the reenactment of the legend of King Mahabali, reminding everyone of the values of humility, kindness, and community spirit.
Both celebrations brought a sense of joy, unity, and respect to Vedanta Academy, reinforcing the importance of cultural values and the profound impact teachers have on students' lives.
